Ohau Gravels Pinot Gris
The wine is rich and elegantly opulent, displaying tropical fruit, peach, mandarin and potpourri characters on the nose, followed by a richly flavoured palate that’s succulent and silky. This is flavoursome and expressive, beautifully supported by a touch of sweetness and juicy acidity.
Ohau vineyard has stony, free-draining soil, ideal for growing grapes. The region is famous for indian summers and long, warm, dry autumns which help to ripen the fruit. The grapes for this wine were hand-harvested mid-April 2014.

The grapes were gently crushed to the press. Following cold settling the juice was racked to tank for fermentation using an aromatic yeast, designed for Pinot Gris. A small portion is barrel fermented to add complexity and richness to the blend. The wine was kept on yeast lees until preparation for bottling late August 2014.
